The flights are booked and our itinerary set. Here are the details ...

Tuesday, December 15
2 p.m. Depart Birmingham, fly to Atlanta, fly to Los Angeles
10:20 p.m. Depart LAX for Hong Kong (15-hour flight)

Thursday, December 17
5:40 a.m. Arrive Hong Kong (I know ... we totally miss Dec. 16th.)

Friday, December 18 & Saturday, December 19
Sightsee in Hong Kong

Sunday, December 20
Take a train to Guangzhou (about an hour north of Hong Kong). Settle into the White Swan Hotel, where we will be for 11 days

Monday, December 21
GOTCHA DAY!
9 a.m. We get Lia Kate! (This will be Sunday night at 7 p.m. Central U.S. time)

Tuesday, December 22
Sign provincial paperwork to finalize the adoption

Wednesday, December 23
Hang out day

Thursday, December 24
Danny will hopefully fly to Lianjiang (Lia Kate's city) to see where she came from, visit the orphanage and go to her finding place. Her city is an 8-hour drive from Guangzhou, so we are now looking into flights to get Danny there. This place is an important piece of her history, so we are hoping one of us can go and learn about the place she spent her first year and a half.

Friday, December 25
Christmas Day with our girl!

Saturday, December 26
Lia Kate's medical exam

Sunday & Monday
Hang out days

Tuesday, December 29
Our U.S. Consulate appointment to finalize the adoption from the U.S. side

Wednesday, December 30
Hang out day while we wait for Lia Kate's U.S. Visa so that we can fly home
Also, our 5th wedding anniversary!

Thursday, December 31
Pick up Lia Kate's Visa and take the evening train back to Hong Kong.

Friday, January 1
Hang out all day and begin the long flight home that night
11:45 p.m. Leave Hong Kong for LAX

8:15 p.m. (still on Jan. 1) we arrive in LAX
11:55 p.m. Depart LAX for Atlanta, then to Birmingham

Saturday, January 2 -- HOME
8:33 a.m. Arrive at the Birmingham airport!!!
